I offer talks and workshops for libraries, universities, cultural organizations, and festivals. My work brings together storytelling, research, and lived experience to explore Irish language and mythology, genetic genealogy, writing, and independent publishing, with an emphasis on connection, curiosity, and shared inquiry.
Talk and Workshop Topics
Current offerings include:
- In Search of Giants
A talk on genetic heritage, Irish history, and storytelling, based on my book In Search of Giants. - Genetic Genealogy as Inquiry
An introduction to genetic genealogy that emphasizes questions, ethics, and context rather than consumer DNA results. - Irish Language, Myth, and Belonging
A cultural talk exploring Irish mythology, language, and what these traditions offer contemporary learners. - Making Small Books
A workshop on creating booklets and zines, focused on small-scale publishing, design choices, and learning by doing. - Writing 101
A reflective workshop for adults interested in beginning or returning to writing and creative work.
Talks and workshops can be adapted for different audiences and time frames.
