Writing & Projects
My writing spans essays, small book projects, and long-form nonfiction, with a focus on language, myth, identity, and independent publishing.
Current Project: Mythic Women of Ireland

What do ancient Irish myths have to say to us, especially when you are a fourth generation Irish-American like I am? Can these tales from so long ago speak to us from a distant place across the Atlantic Ocean?
This ongoing booklet series explores Irish mythic figures, such as the Banshee, the Cailleach, and the Sea-Maiden through retelling, reflection, and cultural context. Each small, booklet invites you to slow down and spend time with a single story, as I root it in place and tradition and reflect on how I feel it speaks to me today.
These booklets are written for curious, thoughtful readers drawn to Irish culture, language, and mythology, and for anyone who believes learning and creative exploration do not have an expiration date.
Each booklet includes:
• A retelling of an Irish myth rooted in place
• Cultural and historical context
• A personal reflection on identity and belonging
• An invitation and resources to consider how the story resonates today
Fairsing Publishing: My Independent Publishing Imprint

Fairsing Publishing is the name of my independent publishing imprint. The word fairsing (pronounced far-shing) is Irish for “far-reaching,” “expansive,” and “open-hearted,” and it reflects how I approach my work.
Through Fairsing, I publish small, intentional projects such as booklets, essays, and limited-run works that value independence, care, and collaboration over scale. This practice grew alongside my study of the Irish language and my interest in learning by doing, experimenting, and working outside traditional publishing models.
Fairsing is not a fixed destination but an ongoing exploration of what it means to make thoughtful work in conversation with writers, editors, designers, printers, and readers.
Earlier Work: In Search of Giants
In Search of Giants: The Quest to Find the Genetic Giants of Northern Ireland, co-authored with historian Brendan Holland, explores the science, history, and lived experience of genetic gigantism. The book weaves together our own story and the stories of others living with the condition alongside research into a rare genetic mutation found in Northern Ireland — the same mutation that caused our gigantism.
